Diponegoro University (UNDIP) got the 1st place on the achievements for the category of THE Datapoints Impact Award 2022 which was given directly to representatives of UNDIP delegation (Ahmad Ni’matullah Al-Baarri, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D.) at the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Universities Summit 2022 event in Fujita Health University, Toyoake, Japan on May 31, 2022.
THE Datapoints Impact Award 2022 was an assessment of UNDIP’s work in implementing and achieving SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) especially in resolving climate change effects, including efficiency implementation and energy sustainability also other aspects such as environmental education and zero carbon or clean energy commitment. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) are a global development agreement that was agreed by approximately 193 heads of state, including Indonesia. SDG’s contains 17 goals and 169 targets which is a global action plan for the next 15 years (2016 to 2030), to end poverty, reduce inequality and protect the environment.

THE Datapoints Impact Award 2022 uses 4 Goals that are targeted with impact metrics that can be connected to institutional works on climate change and environment: SDG 7 (access to affordable and clean energy), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), SDG 12 ( responsible consumption and production) and, the most relevant is SDG 13 (climate action).
As for some universities in Asia that were nominated for THE Datapoints Impact Award 2022 such as Diponegoro University, University of Indonesia, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Iran University of Medical Sciences, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Kuwait University, National Changhua University of Education, Padjadjaran University. It is a proof that Undip was one of the best colleges in Asia in implementing the UN’s program for the achievement of SDG’s and one of the reputable universities that pay great attention to give an efforts to overcome the impacts of climate change, including the implementation of energy efficiency and sustainability. It was also conveyed directly by Simone Dilena, President of APAC THE World Universities Insights at THE Asia Universities Summit 2022 at Fujita Health University, Toyoake, Japan on May 31, 2022.
Diponegoro University Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama S.H. M. Hum., expressed his gratitude to all parties and the entire Undip family for these achievements. The ranking results are the results of the hard work from all levels of the Diponegoro University academic community.
