The Food Technology Study Program (PSTP) was established in 2012. From then on, PSTP has become a flagship program in the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, which can be known from the increase in registrant interest with the ratio of the registrant/accepted is 1:21 and still increasing this year. From the previous year, the interest registrant PSTP increased by 22,6% from 3371 to 4134 registrants. The high concern from the community is followed by the fact that the food industry is an essential and multidisciplinary industry, which means that many study programs can be involved in the development activities at PSTP. Because of the high concern, the capacity of PSTP in 2022 will increase by 30%. Consequently, the learning capacity in PSTP needs to be improved, so that there is a need for good quality learning in order to support the transformation of education in the form of the teaching industry.

PSTP has many experience in teaching industry development which already exists with PT Charoen Pokphand and has a firm national and international partner to support the teaching industry at the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences. A firm overseas partner owned by PSTP is Kamada Soy Sauce Co. Ltd. from Japan, which is very committed to accepting industrial internship students. Next year, they will accept laborers from Indonesia which would be a golden chance to support PSTP graduates in order to work in this company. Another partner is CV. Cita Nasional which also has a high commitment in developing education. The number of students involved in MBKM (a program launched by the Minister of Education and Culture) is 79 (or 13,3%) and needs to be increased. In addition, PSTP has also been targeted by Diponegoro University to achieve ASIIN international accreditation, which can be achieved after a specific qualification: having a teaching industry.
